Recap Grebbestad

Fort those who are interested, if any ;-) i post some recap of things:

The town where this tournament are held is kind of small so when 17 cars and pike buses gathered outside the small local police station that normally has one car of course it attracted some attention and one guy where wise enough to call those arranging the tournament, that’s is why the players could know it before the police enter the doors. There where several civil dressed police officers participating in the tournament. They had registered and bought their way into the tournament trough 24h software.

To Control illegal gambling in Sweden we have LI (lotteri inspektionen) and they got an official registered complaint made by Svenska Spel. (sick but anyway) Then the LI HAVE to investigate so the case went on to a prosecutor who decided to make an razzia with the full amount of power.

At the same time as the police arrived at the tournament there was also polices who went to the houses to the people responsible, to secure evidence, computers, papers and so on. They had house warrant for this. . All this because the prosecutor chooses to name the charges as ”grovt dobbleri”. Why the prosecutor choose this is so they can get as many as possible covered in the lawsuit/case, such as sponsor site, private persons, the conference centre where it was held and so on and on.

On spot when there was representatives from Svenska spel, 4 polices from a special unit called “organiserad brottslighet”, computer security department, so one can for sure say it was very carefully planned. All together it was 60 polices on the spot.

A special police department called SPAN was there, well hidden, already kl 09.00 to cover all the participants and their car registrations number on camera.

In the local where the tournament where held it is normally 22 cameras to cover the facilities. For reasons we all can understand these ones has been shut of the last week preparing the tournament. The police copied the hard drives anyway.

Police arrested one of the people arranging the tourney with immediately effect and the other one where reported as wanted. (He hade the brain enough to run out trough the backdoor with “things” that where supposed to be handed out the day after to those who earned it ;-)..)

The facilities closed down 15:30 Saturday when the police decided there where no risk the tournament will continue.

On Saturday the second responsible person also went to the police and reported himself.

This case will for sure be a leading one witch is why it was so carefully planned.
The investigation right now proceeds by the police on all the material they secured to establish however the companies involved are Swedish registered or not and/or are breaking against Swedish laws in this matter.

Late Monday evening the two organisers where being “häktade” officially. sorry dont have all the english correct words.

Ps. One thing I really wonder about is those polices that did buy in trough 24 h software, they sat down in civil cloths and played against others, provoked others to play against them as one do against a table. I mean they have provoked players to play with them in a tournament they knew are illegal and with the intention to act like polices later in the evening.


Isn’t that illegal crime provocation?

I think its only illegal if they organize the tournament, then bust everyone who shows up :)

i just got an email from 24hpoker today, stating that since they couldnt get in touch with the organizers, they would pay back everyone who registered trough their client.

Yea, loool they are locked up in prision!!! christ how sick is that!!!

Swedish poker association has decided to 100% back up this lawsuit with all possible means and already several big sites has shown intrest to us to help out financialy so this is a big pot boiling right now.

Förhandlingar om häktning mot Grebban och Mr River avslutades sent på tisdagskvällen med att de bägge försattes på fri fot. De är fortfarande misstänkta för grovt dobbleri. Åklagaren Linn Scholander, är besviken över detta beslut och vet inte i nuläget om hon tänker överklaga eller inte. Anledningen till häktningen var att Scholander ansåg att det fanns risk för att den fortsatta utredningen skulle försvårars om de försattes på fri fot.

Tingsrätten i Udevalla ansåg att häktningsskälen inte vägde tillräckligt tungt mot de men som skulle drabba dem i och med en häktning. Därav beslutet om att de skulle försättas på fri fot.

Scholander ansåg att de var skäligen misstänkta för grovt dobbleri och yrkade på att bägge skulle häktas med restriktioner för att inte försvåra den fortsatta utredningen.

Det var i fredags kväll som ett 30-tal poliser slog till mot Nordens största pokerturnering med 700 deltagare och en total prissumma på 1,5 miljoner. Man gjorde det sedan Lotteriinspektionen gjort en polisanmälan.

Grebban och Mr River är numera på fri fot och ProSharks fick en pratstund med en något utmärglad Grebban på väg hem från häktet...



PS: Nyss utsläppt ifrån häktet i Uddevalla; Hur känns det?



Grebban: Underbart skönt faktiskt; det har varit ett rent helvete i fyllecellen under fyra dagar. Åklagaren har utsatt mig för ren terror med väckning vid oregelbundna tider på nätterna. Men mitt samvete har varit rent hela tiden;



PS: Du har känt dig säker?



Grebban: Vår uppgift på plats har varit att hålla i eventet. Att ta emot folk som ankommer hallen mot uppvisande av legitimation. Alla fick en badge och stämpel för att vi skulle kunna hålla oss till reglerna gällande;slutet sällskap;. Saken är ju den att under den tiden som jag kom till häktet så kände jag att jag inte hade brutit mot något när det gäller lagen om dobbleri och anledningen till detta var att anmälningsavgiften hade gått direkt till huvudarrangören som är 24H poker och att vi hade kompletta startlistor som gjorde att detta var ett ;slutet sällskap;.

Grebban: Just nu så är jag hos vänner och kopplar av med en whiskey



Hur upplevde du razzian?



Grebban: Jag blev väldigt chockad. Nu efteråt så har jag har bara skummat igenom tidningar mm om s.k. tips via sms och läckor; och ingenting stämmer. Det började med att efter middagen så kom alla spelarna in i lokalen och efter ca 15 minuter så tillkallar en spelare min uppmärksamhet för att han begärde chipcount. Han påstod att det fattades marker mot vad som räknats innan middagen. Jag tog detta med TM direkt och vi beslöt då att det enda säkra var att tömma lokalen direkt för att iordningställa alltihopa. Inget av de andra stämmer. Vi hade långa överläggningar om hur vi skulle göra detta och det fanns bara detta alternativ.



PS: Kom detta som en överraskning eller hade ni detta på känn?



Grebban: Det kom som en jätteöverraskning. Jag stod vid ett bord och funderade hur vi skulle lösa detta och plötsligt stod insatsstyrkan där; Jag försökte hitta mina kollegor men de hade redan blivit omhändertagna.



PS: Hur ser du på polisens agerande i fallet?



Grebban: Det gick väldigt fort på plats. Direkt när insatstyrkan kom så pekade en dam som hade varit med i spelet direkt ut mig Det är han ta honom;Det är han som är arrangör; mm.

Men snälla du, du har ju spelat själv, kan du vara så vänlig att förklara för mig vad jag är anklagad för; svarade jag lugnt och fick snabbt tillbaka;det borde du veta själv;sätt dig ner och var tyst;. Sen anmodades jag att ta på mig min dunjacka och där fick jag stå och svettas i dubbel bemärkelse kan man säga. Jag prövade med att fråga en konstapel om det gick bra att hänga av sig den pga värmen. Då satte han pekfingret mot munnen och sa lite bryskt;Nonononono; Sen bar det av till Uddevalla och jag har ännu inte fått ngn lista på vad det tagit från mig och när jag frågar om det så blir jag nekad hela tiden.



PS: Vad är det dom har tagit från dig?



Grebban: Jag har ingen koll på allt men min laptop och mina telefoner tog dom på plats. Sedan gjorde dom tydligen en husrannsakan utan att informera mig om det. Jag fick reda på det 6 timmar efteråt och det såg ut som sju svåra år hemma.. Privat post , personliga saker, syskonbarns personnummer mm hade de tagit. Detta är s&#2
